Al Jazeera English Launches!

The English language channel has officially launched today, 15/11/2006 12PM GMT. Broadcasting from 4 broadcast centers, London, Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur and Doha. Station promises to be the voice of the south, providing a 360 degree view of the world.

@luciremagazine I wouldn't compare Cho Seung-hui's rants on NBC and Pekka-Eric Auvinen's air time to al-jazeera's decision to air Hezbollah's, Al-qaeda's, Chavez's propaganda videos, they had and still have an option not to air their videos, they air their videos in any case which tells something about al-jazeera's values and who it wants to court. I recall Gerry Adams' and Martin McGuinness' voices were even muted at one time on British tv channels.
