1.you don't see Stars when its daylight.

2.the resolution of the cameras is VERY low. On a good view, you can just make out the moon.

they only go for necessities.
Any additional cost/weight would be avoided.

You can't see any star on any video and most pics of space, but thats a problem with ccd/film exposure. You need more exposure to capture stars and that would "overbright" the rest of the scene.

But Progress is a modified Soyuz with the re-entry module modified as a fuel tanker. Can't carry much cargo because they launch from Baikionor rather than Koujou.

Excellent work ESA and EADS, finally Europe is making progress in space with Columbus and Jules Verne.
