ICOM 7000 too strong crossmodulation for my little rig

I believe the point he was making was that this radio has issues sometimes with local broadcast stations. I have the same radio with the same issues, except on 40M and below. My other 2 HF rigs on the same antenna, hear just as well with no cross modulation. I honestly had to change up the ground plane to less radials to cut out the cross modulation. I like the IC-7000, but, it's becoming more of my favorite 2M/70cm rig as opposed to my favorite HF rig.

What point are you making? That you dont know how to use the filters and RF gain controls? A receiver that is sensitive needs to have its sensitivity and/or selectivity adjusted in the presence of strong signals.
I'm just making this report, i'm not saying that radio is bad, radio is not bad at all! Anyway as u can see the crossmodulation is present even without preamp, so the only thing is add 20db attenuator, too much in this quite band condition, you will loose sensitivity. Note that in these case ATTENUATOR must be used, NOT RF GAIN, with rf gain you don't do anything, they are not the same thing! And also rig's bandwidth filters cannot do anything, only attanuator! I know how to use a radio... ;)
