Brock Dolman Director of The Water Institute and Permaculture at Occidental Arts and Ecology Center explains the importance of disturbance and native perennial grasses in pasture systems.
@1dsunhope - Hope you got answers, but if not: Grow what is either native or naturally flourishes in your area w/out being invasive. Mow with a reel mower. Fertilize naturally: compost, kelp, fish meal, whatever is available in your area. Compost all yard and kitchen waste. Some even recommend collecting urine (high in nitrogen!) if you are not excreting toxic chemicals/drugs, dilute to water lawn/landscaping or add to compost. Buy local food harmoniously raised. Live thoughtfully. Enjoy!
You continue to be a regenerative voice for the voice of reason and inspiration, healing the rift between humanity and nature. Thankyou and blessings, palika
this was very interesting, the whole food web, tying up carbon, stopping erosion, keeping the land greener and cooler, but how does this reflect back to a home owner? what can they do to do our part? what king of grass would you plant in a yard in hawaii?
