hey man--yeah i only tell folks who are going to be a part of my life; for example, for me, say... a boss doesn't need to know. but anyone i'm going to be hanging out with, i do let them know. i'm really proud to be trans & i think its a good thing that other folks know we are out there, we're normal people doing regular things...take out any misconceptions that folks may have about us. i absolutely understand the reasons some folks do go stealth & i respect that too.

For sure man- if people are going to get to know me then I think it`s good for them to know, so that, as you said, I can kill any misconceptions people have about trans people. But if it`s strickly business then I don`t want my being trans to be an issue.

Hmm, I also have that lesbian problem lol. People always think I'm lesbian. I used to get made fun of in school 'cause of that. Yet I couldn't exactly tell them I'm not a lesbian, 'cause I was stealth. (still am.. sort of) It's annoying 'cause that's not who I am, but whatever. Unlike most FTMs, I never came out as lesbian because I knew from the start that it's not me. Lesbian = a girl liking another girl. Me = not a girl. So whenever people made fun of me I just laughed 'cause I knew the diff.

Yeah...for me, I came out by telling people that I liked girls, and then they labeled me as a lesbian, I never liked useing the term lesbian for myself.
