This is how you remove the internal HDD from Seagate's recent ext 2.5" 1.5TB FreeAgent GoFlex. Tools needed: 01 x screwdriver & scraper.

  • Like I mentioned in the vid, it's not the standard 9mm drive, it's 12.5mm. So you gotta find out if your laptop can fit that size, but yes it's the standard SATA connector.

  • is this hard drive the same thickness as the WD scorpion Blue Drive? I currently have the WD 1TB installed into my Mackbook Pro Late 2008 15". That hard drive is the 12.5mm drive. want to make sure this will be able to replace that drive. Can you confirm that it is infact 12.5mm and not 14.5mm

  • Very helpful clip, but it's not a 12.5mm drive. It's a 14.5mm Seagate FreePlay which would be a very tight fit for many laptops and too big for most.

  • After removing the HDD, will i be able to insert it into a laptop?
