14th seed Austin Peay State University Governors vs. 12th ranked and #3 seed University of Illinois Fighting Illini in the first round of the 1987 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
There are a lot of familiar faces in the APSU crowd and on the team.
Who can you spot? And where were you at the time?
This is from a 2nd or 3rd generation VHS recording and now over 24 years old on top of that so the quality is bad. I could not even get the first part of the game to play where you could make things out.
Enjoy one the greatest moments in APSU Basketball history since James "Fly" Williams was rocking the Red Barn back in the 70's and the crowd would chant "The Fly is Open, Let's Go Peay!" - Check out Bob Costas at the 4 minute mark: http://youtu.be/7-0nTG3cDz8

If your Dad is Darryl "Bedrock" Bedford then yes it is :-)
Your Dad is one of the all-time APSU greats, we loved cheering him on the 2 seasons he played for the Govs. It was so great to hear the opposing teams announcers and fans reactions when he would take and make a 3 point shot.
