A true veteran of the scene, Julian Sanza is responsible for a host of seminal works; under his own name as well as under the Silver City, Spirals and 2020 Soundsystem guises, releasing on labels like Rebirth, 2020 Vision and Darkroom Dubs along the way. Here, he turns in a brooding two tracker that highlights his versatility. The title track, Graffiti in Canvas is a deceptively powerful affair; packing enough of a punch to hold its own on the floor. As you'd probably guess from the title, Slowburner is a deep, spacey number that is an extremely useful tool for setting the mood of a night; its inherently hypnotic quality serving perfectly to suck the listener in. To make up the package, Dave Storm goes down a more melodic route with his interpretation of Graffiti in Canvas; layering keys over the original to give it a slightly proggier feel.
