On August 23, 2008, Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Veterans and Citizens, escorted a section of World Trade Center Steel from New York City to Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Throughout the length of the ride, local emergency service departments and citizens gathered to pay tribute on and around any bridge overpass the procession passed under. A brotherhood of firefighters from Forks Fire, Palmer Township, Williams Township, and the City of Easton gathered on Morgan Hill Road to show respect to the heroes of 9/11 and the riders escorting the cross.
