Before and After: Hurricane Katrina

Historically New Orleans has always been a lively and musical place and served as a bedrock for the great genres of blues and jazz. The "Big Easy" as it is often referred has always had a close relationship with the body of water surrounding it, one that turned disastrous in August 2005 when Hurricane Katrina happened.

Hurricane Katrina was the costliest and one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. It was the sixth-strongest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded and the third-strongest hurricane on record that made landfall in the United States.

While the government and FEMA's response to the Hurricane was DISMAL then, have they stepped up their efforts in re-building this great city? What is going on with the poor people of New Orleans who were left homeless and denied compensation by their Insurance companies
