On March 13, the final piece of the Pilgrims Plunge tower was hoisted into place. The 16-ton "horseshoe" was lifted by a 220-ton crane with a 210-foot boom.

The World's Tallest Water Ride opens to the public on May 2, when Holiday World opens for the season.

  • Pilgrims Plunge opens May 2, 2009.

  • The flag on the top of the sign on the top of Pilgrims Plunge will have a light shining on it, but not the park logo.

  • oh they turn it!

  • why does it look like its going on backwards?

  • ive rode that ride so many timrs one time i was there during a thunderstorm and it got strucked by lightening

  • the voyage

  • Since I live down in the bottom of Kentucky, it takes a couple hours for us to get there, but it sure is worth it! :)

  • That would've been cool, but the way I see it, it's pretty pointless because the park usually closes before it gets extremely dark. And really there isn't' much population to see it outside the park.

  • 3 hours! Not going this year, It was fun in 08 though.

  • thats cool i live about 45 minits away

  • the voyage
