Soulfull ,cool sound !! I mis-understood him.

If anyone know a better blues song, I wish they'd introduce it to me, please. Never heard any better blues song. I wish Robert Plant would give this song a go.

I saw something like this long tame ago in a concert of BB King in Zaragoza(Spain). BB King broke a string and he changed it playing the guitar.
Alvin Lee was one of the best guitarrist arroun the world. I have all the Ten Years After LP's.

I've known about Alvin (from the woodstock video)most of my life-had a couple albums and liked him. But I didn't discover this until I was 54-I think it's his most masterful song yet-his absolute understated control during this song show his complete subjugation of the genre to his wishes--just awesome!

IHANA..

Saw Ten Years After in 1973. One of the best shows ever. Snowed 8" while the concert was in progress. Imagine 100,00 stoned hippies driving around Portland stoned stoned stoned.

No it's a Gibson ES335 custom shop signature guitar.

Alvin Lee? He wasn't a while back. I saw him on a TV program (not him playing or being interviewed) just walking down a London (I guess) street with his accoustic in tow. I guess we can google his obituary. I hope not.
-
That would be the Gibson 535??
-
Al Hodge used to keep singing while changing a string and often finished soon enough to continue playing, I even saw him do it with a locking nut that needed an allen key!

I saw Ten Years After in Tampa in 1973..Absolutely one of the best concerts I have ever been too! He just blew me away!!
-
I knew Alvin Lee when he played in the Jay Birds in Nottingham in the early 60s, I would have never looked at this site other than the fact as a guitar collector I have just aquired an Alvin Lee signature guitar the same as his big red only mine is ebony without all the stickers. I'm glad Alvin made it big he's the best guitarist I've ever seen.

what a bad ass song... how cool !!! scotty moore dj fontana and pete pritchard in the video at the end there, sweet xxxx love Alvin what a legend xxxx
-
Amazing tune.

Any rock star would be privileged to play along side this legend. He never got the recognition he deserved. Yet, he was respected by his peers, which I would assume meant more to him than any award. I appreciate you Alvin! Thanks for all the great music over the years!
-
Great blues guitar, great blues voice, great pure musician. Alvin Lee is a lost classic, who has never received the recognition he so richly deserves. thank you GOD for giving us Alvin Lee and his talents.
-
these where true musicians, not the remix phonies passing themselves of as talent

I saw this also...it happened in Chicago. When I tell friends how Lee changed strings in the middle of a song they think I'm crazy. Finally. Proof. I'm only a little crazy. Likewise, I have never seen anyone else do it. It was a crazy night. Everyone was high. People were thrown off the stage. Lee was like God. The night was surreal.

I saw Alvin Lee in 1977. He broke a string, let the band play on while he changed it, and then they all stopped on a chord while he tuned it up to pitch only to break into the next song. I have never ever seen anybody else do it.
