On Easter sunday, the Union Pacific ran its brand new engine, the 2010, on the MNLAS-04 (North Little Rock- Alton and Southern Gateway Yard). The engine has stencils to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America organization (BSA). It lead the train up the Chester Sub and it was the unit's second run after being unveiled down in Texas.

We set out to catch it at about 4:30pm, and when we got to the Chester Sub at around 5:30, we saw absolutely NO action in Dupo. We headed south where we seen a northbound empty coal train through Valmeyer and passing the old fire station. Then we headed south some more. Some 5 miles down, we saw a manifest leaning into a curve, but it was too far away to tell what it was. We headed back mile into Chatlin Bridge, where the train came. It was the 2010, with bonus pipe loads!! We raced it a 1/2 mile north and caught it again at the crossing. Then we got some pacing shots north of Valmeyer (not included here). We met up with Mitchell (mjet401bnsf) and Dom (mopacboy) in Columbia for our last shots, the sun fading fast. Thanks to my dad for filming the train. Then we headed home.
