What makes the King James Version so special to certain fanatic fundie sects? It was compiled by Royal committee under the auspices of the first Stuart King, who was not known for his excessive piety or tolerance for dissenters against the official English Church.
Although it has some beautiful prose, it is full of mistranslations.
It's not even the first English translation of the Bible that gained popularity. Why not the Tyndale or Geneva translations?
I don't get it.

@eye7view No such thing as a Definitive version. The ancient Hebrew and Greek cannot be literally translated into English. A version would be one of the DOZENS of quasi-translations. BTW there are more than 7 "versions " of the KJV.

@wilatemodel No need to run, who needs guns? Food with less additives. If people have bad teeth it's self inflicted as there are good dentists. To be honest I have friends and family in USA but would never visit as I find it such a scary place. I can go anywhere alone where I live and never have a problem and have never been the victim of a crime in 57 years. Sounds like you have been listening to Mr Savages radio show or one of his right wing buddies. Oh well everyone to their own :-)
