@MissAri73 Butter would do; someone else suggested coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil - but I've never tried either of those. Another possibility is vegan butter, tho I haven't tried that one either. Hope this helps.

@tantrume3 Basically it's a fat that is solid at room temperature. In pastries you use butter, lard, or something like crisco.

hey can i use this crust for Quiche filling as well? if so, question...would i have to bake the crust first and then add the filling orrrrr i can add the egg filling and then bake?

@genickos Yes, definitely. If you're following a recipe, what does it suggest? I looked up a couple of recipes - one suggested pre-baking for 15 minutes prior to adding egg filling and another said to pour egg filling into pie shell and bake. If you're not following a recipe, personally I'd pre-bake it, then add the egg filling. Just watch that the pie crust edges don't burn.
