I would suggest that the goal of the vast majority of these prominent climate change skeptics is to create doubt regarding the recommendations of the scientific consensus in relation to the impact of our carbon emissions on global climate change. This doubt, once entrenched in the public opinion would provide a brake on real progress towards legislation to restrict carbon emissions. The obvious benefactors of a lack of progress would be industries who would be forced to lose billions in profits by having to change their business processes and models to comply with stricter regulations. Do you think that it is likely that these anti-climate change advocates are being bankrolled by these industries? You decide?

  • "The job of a policy maker is to know what questions to ask" - Yes. But, those questions are to be asked AFTER the scientist has apprised you of the basic situation, Mr. Policy Maker! Monckton does the opposite. He forms his position from the hearsay and his ideaology, then badgers the scientists with questions and never asks any useful questions at all!

  • I love debunking videos.

  • Another load of alarmist clap-trap.

$30 plus billion thrown at cash-starved scientific academy’s proves nothing

We are all still waiting for SOME PROOF OF YOUR CLAIMS.

No matter how much money is thrown at this by mislead and alarmed governments, CO2 will never be shown to be a main driver of temperatures, simply because it isnt.

  • After initializing and parametrizing hundreds of unknown factors, inserting divergent proxy data and ignoring any difficult natural forcing factors,we ran hundreds of simulations until we obtained the results we wanted–an ensemble of meaningless projected results, which we then averaged. We utilized the liberally unprincipled component method to homogenize and sensitize this to produce a new hockey stick, which gave a very robust prediction (95% probability) that we are all being totally screwed.

  • Do go to bed Pirongi, you need the sleep! I have not cut and pasted anything apart from URL's so what's problem and, again you've got me wrong and those who know are pissing themselves laughing. The change of use of land for the planting of Jatropha and Palm kernel is creating a worldwide food shortage or don't you read?

  • @tangowahine, Hello Hugh, here you are again fighting Dogma! you seem somewhat selective in your dogma fighting old man! you seem to like self perpetuating problems and using the poor as your pawns in a sick game.

    Are you Catholic Hugh?

You do know that Monckton is I presume.

You know the same church who instructs in missionaries to tell poor people in Africa to stop using condoms because they don't work and that every pregnancy is a gift directly from god.

    Make up your mind Hugh!

  • Thank goodness he is challenging the dogma! Carbon Dioxide is plant food! increase the level Plants grow bigger allowing more food for the Hungry. Global warming will increase the available land mass for horticulture allowing for food for the hungry. Man is unaffected by minor temperature variations of major CO levels. We need to feed the planet and Weather patterns are no worse than those recorded throughout history.

  • 5 people have a dull pain in the anterior cortex.

  • a scam..2 make ppl rich. just like the diet scam...

  • @fatcharlie24 The narrator says "0.58 degrees centigrade" at 6:35 which is correct. If you are referring to the little figure next to the K - that is Monckton's own work on screen, not his. An yes - as you correctly pointed out in your original comment, anyone who uses the term degrees kelvin - ie Monckton - should not be taken seriously.

  • @v1ntone That's true, but a unit in Celsius is called a degree. A unit in Kelvin is Kelvin. Kelvin doesn't use the term degree. It's like saying "That box weighs 2 degrees pounds."
