@helltrackrider I don't know why you keep saying that. The Declaration doesn't say the king was trying to make things more socialistic for them. If anything the king was becoming a dictator and they were trying to make things more democratic (all men are created equal and shit.) Read the damn thing yourself. You keep telling me to and I did.

@helltrackrider That's all well and good but let's be clear that it's not MY philosophy. It's a philosophy that's been formulating over many years by geniuses smarter than me (yes, they're out there.) It just happens to be the one that I agree with the most.

@helltrackrider Are you against letting drivers on the road without auto insurance? I am. When we do that we risk the chance of letting that person hit us and leave us with the repair bill.

Same thing for people without health insurance. I have insurance through my job but I still pay a premium out of my check. If some jackass goes to the emergency room thinking he doesn't have to pay, then the hospital has to eat that cost. Then they pass it on to the ins companies and they raise my premium.

@helltrackrider There's a certain thing called "quality of life." I think we'd all agree that it's good to have a high quality of life. Why is it that Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Luxembourg, Sweden, Australia, Iceland, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Singapore, and Finland all have a higher quality of life than the U.S.?

Maybe their taxes are higher. But maybe they cherish their lives and their country's living standard more than that extra bit of tax money.

Because people who dont work get good quality houses etc for free.

@reallysecretusername What about people who do work but their income is at or below the poverty line? That works out to be around 13% of our population including 12 million children. They need assistance sometimes too.
