Is someone who gets cancer and trips over a max limit a slacker? 10% of bankruptcies in this country are based on someone getting cancer, and over 90% of them started their cancer with full coverage.

In a free market, companies are about profit any way they can get it. Getting people that take more than they gave off the rolls is profitable. Denying coverage to risks is profitable.

What should these people do?

@zzmook So far we've been giving those people free healthcare. It just sucks that a person with cancer has to go completely broke before they can get free healthcare. (paid for by taxpayers) But some jackasses around here think that's better than letting that person BUY a cheap public plan (paid for the person who buys it) that wouldn't drop them when they get cancer.

This is bigger government, yes. Idea is based on the argument that health care is a commodity that is better controlled outside of our version of free market capitalism.

Don't you realize how many crap jobs there are that are not providing health insurance? How do you think those employees have been covering themselves? By selling off their assets so they can be poor and go on Medicare? They will have the option to stay with their current policy or they can switch to the evil, barbaric, monstrous, devilish, bloodthirsty, plan

@chrisogg Jeeze oh man. Who said you'd be paying for the people who BUY insurance through the government? The disabled and children will still get assistance but THE PUBLIC OPTION IS NOT FREE!!! WAKE UP! The trillion dollars of tax money over ten years is needed for the government to make the transition internally. It will only be paid for by those making over a quarter of a million dollars a year.
