Why do people go so apeshit over the concept of "REDISTRIBUTION OF WEATH!!!!" as though that is somehow anti-American. We have ALWAYS redistributed wealth. Any public service is by nature a redistribution of wealth. True, in the days of the 19th Century when most of us were yeoman farmers, we didn't need as many public services. Things have changed a little and now we have roads and schools. I think the idea that everyone can have access to a good education is central to the "American dream."
