at the reception of greg and lydia's wedding, this is me and lydia doing buckley's version of "hallelujah".
phil and walon were playing, and phil played mandolin on this song he was hearing for the first time.
when i told him he did a great job of following, the amazing phil proctor (who is a teacher) told me: "it's like attending a lecture; you take notes and observe before jumping in".
paraphrased, but essentially the gist...

  • the mandolin player didn't even knew the song? not bad for the first time ;)

your singing was a bit out of tune but all in all okay (couldn't do it better, so i think i should shut up ;D)

all that matters is that you have fun :P

p.s.: love your overkill cover :D

  • no, it was the first time phil heard it, but he's one of those players that pisses you off for being so entertaining and talented.

mandolin's not even his main thing. he'd'a killed this on guitar, but i like the the tone better as it is.

and not to say that i could sing buckley sober, but my "pitchyness" excuse is the open bar.

    thanks for listening!

  • She totally fucked up your set! lol

  • The woman beside him is ruining the song

  • I'm watching the Cohen covers uploaded 2 utube.

Hes 1 of my faves...not bad.

  • Exellent

    It has really inspired me

Think I might have a go at this song and put one on you tube with my guitar

  • what really pisses me off is that i've started to play the wrong instrument 10 years ago :D

it's kinda hard to play trumpet and sing at the same time :) and after all trumpet and rock don't really fit together (with some exceptions) ;D

greetings from germany and keep the good work up :)
