Ch. 15 No Turning Back Now
(at Island Def Jam)
Receptionist: Hello Mr. Raymond, how are you today.
Usher: I am good thanks, where is the chairman?
Receptionist: He is in his office.
Usher: Thank you, will you please tell him I will be in his office with Andrew in a minute.
Receptionist: Right away.
Usher: You ready for this. This is the real test Andrew.
Andrew: I am ready.
Katy: Are you nervous?
Andrew: Not at all.
Katy: Really, when I went, I was about to faint I was so nervous.
Andrew: I guess auditioning before for things has prepared me for this.
Katy: That's good, good luck Andrew.
Andrew: Thanks (hugs her and follows Usher and Scooter)
Katy: Is he always like that?
Justin: Hugging people, yeah.
Katy: No, he said he wasn't nervous.
Justin: It is weird, he was like that when he sang for me and Scooter.
Pattie: His step mom said that when he first auditioned for his school play that he was freaking out and could barely get the words to the song out.
Katy: Well he has come a long way since then. It's unbelievable. The only person I have met that is like that is.
Justin: Taylor Swift.
Katy: Yeah, let's hope he will go just as far as she did.
(outside the chairman's office)
Usher: You ready little buddy.
Andrew: Let's get it on.
Usher: Alright (knocks on the door)
Chairman: Come in!
Usher: (walks in) Afternoon Chairman.
Chairman: Usher, I am glad to see you.
Usher: Glad to see you too.
Scooter: Hello chairman.
Chairman: Scooter, I haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?
Scooter: I have been good, very busy lately.
Chairman: So I have heard, well you are managing the top pop star in the world.
Scooter: Well I wouldn't want it any other way.
Chairman: And I am guessing this is Andrew, I saw the press conference. It has been a big day for you hasn't it?
Andrew: The biggest day of my life. And one of the most fun.
Chairman: Great attitude. I like you already. But let's get down to business already. I am sure you are very busy today. So what are you going to sing for us?
Andrew: City is Ours by Big Time Rush
Chairman: Sounds a little cocky. I like it. I am ready when you are. Press the play button on this remote when you are ready.
Andrew: (breathes in) The city is ours, the city is ours. Rolling past the city walls, billboards lighting up the block. Every one of us on a mission. Got a whole crew by my side.
We pull up, open the door, all the girls scream, there they are, its packed from wall to wall and everybody is calling. Here we come, it's almost time, feel the rush, now hit the lights. We gonna get it started.
Because the night is young, the line is out the door, today was crazy but tonight the city is ours, live it up until the morning comes, today was crazy but tonight the city is ours, the city is ours.
(continues to sing, while Justin, Katy, Ke$ha, Alex, and Kaylin listen through the door)
Katy: Wow.
Ke$ha: Oh my God.
Kaylin: Damnnnn
Justin: SHHH!!!!!!
Katy: You are being louder than us.
Justin: Shhhhh
Andrew: The city is ours, the city is ours, the city is ours. (catches his breathe)
Chairman: (stands up and claps) Andrew, that was amazing. Now I see how you and Justin are related. You both sing amazing.
Usher: Andrew that was great.
Andrew: Thanks.
Chairman: The board will be here in about an hour. You are welcome to stay here until then.
Scooter: It is up to Andrew, won't you just show them the videos of him singing.
Andrew: No, I want to sing for them, live.
Chairman: Ahhh, the boy knows what he wants. I like it. You are welcome to stay in here until they get here.
