Star Wars quarter sleeve tattoo - session 1

Darth Beer, host of "Vintage Star Wars Weekly", gets a Star Wars themed tattoo.

This is the first of what will be several sessions of tattoo work. The tattoo will be a quarter sleeve, featuring images from Star Wars, Episode 4, A New Hope.

ABOUT THE ARTIST...

The tattoo is being done by Sergio Lindop who currently works at 13 Roses Tattoo Parlour in Athens, GA.

Sergio did a Princess Leia tattoo on Darth Beer this past February, and he loved it so much, that he decided to have Sergio do a quarter sleeve that is centered around the Leia tattoo.

Dude, that's going to look awesome when it's done. Being a complete pussy myself, I can't bring myself to get a tattoo, so I'll just have to live vicariously through your experience.

Thanks for posting the video. Informative as well as entertatining -- I never knew how the whole stenciling thing works when getting a tattoo. I always thought tattoo artists just drew it freehand.

I guess some artists might work freehand if they are doing a really simple design, but every tattoo I've ever seen done used a stencil.

Also, as far as being a pussy... I'm actually scared to death of needles! LOL! If I get a shot, I have to lay down and close my eyes, because If I'm sitting up, or if I look at the needle, I will pass out!

I'm fine getting a tattoo though. I just look the other way while getting it. It really doesn't hurt all THAT bad either.

Sergio reallly does amazing work. He did my first tattoo back in October and just did a new one for my wife yesterday. His detail and shading are just perfect.
