A computer virus, (from a Vampire?) infects a paradise of dreams... Mark Plimsoll wrote, produced, and performed this Orwellian story of Gnathal, who inhabits two worlds and another galaxy; the urban Metroplex, the agrarian DevaState, and enraged silicon-based beings that pursue a Reality Show crew of young, virginal, earthling Astronauts. He pursues two love objects, a Gypsy Fortune-teller Belly-dancing professional escort who calls herself Vampire Elvirus, and the agrarian daughter of the Metroplex president, while Earth's skies blaze with intergalactic nuclear war. Imagine a future where every human receives cellphone implants at birth, with scanners behind the eyes permanently connected to the internet, and to everyone else. Our near future, where people ping each other, google online librarians and help systems with Indian accents, receive employment advice from computerized personalities, and deflect offers of sexy products and news feeds mouthed by a cloying inner voice of our own choosing. Gnathal pulls himself out of various slaveries to become Christopheles, but succumbs to 'social stain' and lands in jail. There he enjoys a blissful sleep of memories, until prosecution sentences him to Civil Death. Wide awake in his drug-induced immobility, vulgar computer viruses infect the imaginary world of his own cleansed and enhanced pre-recorded memorabilia. In this romance gone awry, Gnathal must choose between dead or alive- the vampire, or his pregnant fiancée. Twenty-three illustrated podcasts allow us to drop an ear on the future, nine hours of aural theater with special effects, songs, scary poems, and even ringtones on one CD-ROM. Available free (in lower resolution) for download on the Internet (English Language Learners and others can also buy the illustrated ebook). The high resolution CD-ROM and the print-version "Cell U.R. Tales from the Script" can be purchased at Lulu.com.
