Motor Grader Stuck in the Snow.AVI

Motor grader (Caterpillar 12F) getting stuck in 25+ inches of snow (December 21,2009) on Reservoir Street, in Waynesboro, Virginia. The Operator eventually made it to the top of the hill and opened up the street.

should have driven up first then plowed down with gravity working in his favor

when he was backing up he should have put the moldboard down and plowed some of the snow in this way

a old 12 grader is a nice machine it might have thin tires on it that could be why it got stuck they run these on the highway and the tires wear out fast

With tire chains, rear articulation, and a fully functional moldboard that thing shouldn't EVER get THAT stuck where he can't get out....reasonably

at 0:52 he spun to his left, and anyone who has driving with chains on can tell you, chains will not bite on the edge of asphalt or frozen gravel, there just is nothing there to dig into, best he backed up before he got in to deep

He is not stuck, just temporarily inertially challenged. :)

I think he just stopped that first time cuz he fell in a hole. When you feel a drop like that, it is usually best to stop and see where your going. Like most video, this hill is probably a lot steeper than it looks.

I do think the commenters are not reading the description, tho. ;)
