This is a demo of our senior design project. Our project is a solar power tracker. The device follows the sun around the sky so it gets the optimum amount of sunlight.
due to the fact the sun rises and sets in basically the same direction each day given certain aspects, angular reception is all thats required. no 180 degree turns should be nessecary except possibly dawn till dusk on a completely flat plane where the sun shines 18 hrs per day.. although the horizontal reception of solar light is a great step your unit seems a bit overworked. a simple and cheap solution,window regulaters from compact cars coupled torelays controlled by a light sensitive switch
that would be the only part to go bad on your solar panel.
