Syria's opposition is planning a 'Day of Rage' after Friday prayers, in the face of the violent crackdown on protesters. The U.S. is calling for sanctions against Syria, blaming President Assad for turning to Iran in a way that could unite the two against Israel, Washington's closest ally in the region. RT's Irina Galushko looks at the potential for the Arab uprisings to spread further east.

@88Matija The Jews has nothing to do with Syria. The truth of the matter is, Iran will not stand idly while Assad is being bombarded by various opposition groups. Definitely, Iran will support Assad and its going to be messy when intervention happens. Iran knows that losing Syria will weaken her.

I am also an atheist American, but unlike you, I do care about injustice and poor countries like those in the Middle East. Everyone should support those countries and try to understand the general situation here. I find that people under-look things and should really take the time to analyse each situation and make sure that it is right, before stating anything. Understand why every ''group'' is doing what they are doing and why they are doing it. It is always for their interest.
