This classic continental dish is ridiculously simple to make. You will need:

Chicken pieces
1-4 onions
2-4 Tbsp paprika
Sour cream
salt
water

Slice the onions in half moons and then saute until they are soft and sweet. Brown the chicken, then add the Paprika. Cover with water and simmer until the chicken is cooked. Stir in sour cream to thicken, and then serve over egg noodles.

  • You should also add a pickled cucumber salad as a side with any paprika dish.

  • "Please for the love of God do not add tomato to this dish"… LOL! Hilarious. And you are right, it DOES matter how you cut the onions, slicing them rather than dicing them makes a big difference. Diced onions disintegrate faster and will add too much liquid to the dish.

  • @Lorielgreenleaf - tomato sauce taste similar to many folks. I don't know, as it turns out, I've been making what, the Romani version? Lol.

  • if you don't have paprika or sour cream, you can use tomato sauce and yogurt..:-) Not authentic sure, but tasty. :-D
