just another great performence by Rufus, at the fillmore, live in concert. i like this song so much better in this live set, it has a much faster pace than his studio version, and in this case, it's better.

  • @elkaia1 Ok I guess you're right in saying openly oppressing gays is worse than being uncomfortable talking about them, but my point remains...

  • @rrlloo1 Are you kidding? We have Bachmann and Perry running for president. We've got the WBC. We got bills in Tennessee being introduced that would make it legal to bully gay kids "for religious reasons" in school. Trust me, when Americans are homophobic, they're noisy about it. It's better to be uncomfortable but open minded than ignorant and proud. Besides, I didn't get any uncomfortable vibes from Lady. You pointed out his sexuality for no real reason. All she was asking for was your point.

  • @elkaia1 The reason I mentioned your being American is not because I think all Americans are stupid, but because a lot of Americans try to be tolerant towards gays, but fail nonetheless. They try to avoid the subject, and when the subject does come up they'll be the first to shout homosexuality is TOTALLY OK and NO REASON TO DISCRIMINATE, afraid of being seen as homophobic. However, this reaction reveals that the USA is still a very oppressive heteronormal society.

  • @rrlloo1 You're retarded. What does being american have to do with anything? "Lol, I think she's stupid, so I'm gonna assume she's american BECAUSE AMERICANS ARE STUPID." Very "tolerant" of you. Lady's saying that there's no reason to treat him any differently than anyone else while you're making massive leaps about her thought process and twisting it into SHE DOESN'T WANT TO POINT OUT HE'S GAY FOR NO REASON LIKE I AM AND THEREFORE MUST BE A CLOSET HOMOPHOBE.

  • i need the names of the 2 backupsingers. someone please help me. i saw this band like 2004-2005??? and the backup singers BLEW MY MIND. i need their names

  • @Ladytaeful First of all, you're stupid. And second of all, I still think you're being a little afraid to talk about gays. You're probably also American. You Americans want to accept homosexuality, but unfortunately you're doing it wrong. You're saying: "Hey he's gay, who cares, that's totally normal, stfu about it." But even that suggests that deep inside you DON'T think it's normal. You're afraid to ask questions about it. You just want to ignore the thing and go on with your "tolerant" life.

  • @rrlloo1 It's no one's business what anyone's sexual orientation is. And I have to wonder why you seem so hung up on it. We are looking and listening to a youtube video of an amazing talent, not a video of him in bed with his boyfriend for God's sake! He's been open about his sexuality since the age of 14 and anyone who's ever heard of him knows that he's gay. So what, exactly, is there to discuss?? Sure his sexuality is a part of him, but no more so for anyone else. Again, so what????

  • @Ladytaeful There's not really an important reason to point out whether he's gay or not, at least not more important than his hair colour, his birth place or the car he drives. His being gay doesn't define who he is, and neither does any other of his specific features. However, I'm getting pretty sick of you people who are denying the fact that his sexuality is a part of him and who are arguing that it should be ignored completely. Are you afraid to talk about a person's sexual orientation?

  • @rrlloo1 So what?? He's an amazing talent. WHy the need to point out his sexual orientation?

  • My favorite Rufus song and that's saying a lot because I love SO many of them. But there's just something so uplifting about this one. I can just picture him on the back of a Vespa, holding onto someone and riding around Europe.
