I disagree with you about the shot glass thing though. Even when I drink nice alcohol I'll measure it out in a shot glass just so I know how much I'm getting so I don't accidentally either (a) get drunk or (b) get too drunk, depending on the occasion. I do it with everything from vladimir vodka (yuck) to captain morgan to grey goose to tullamore dew. Just a way of moderating myself. I think more people use it as a measuring device than party paraphernalia.

@efletch91 they make measuring instruments specifically for that but sure I agree with you and will in fact buy shot glasses of my own for the same reason, consistency...
