I cannot find the lyrics in that verse on file with ASCAP, SESAC, nor BMI. So he may have written them originally but they were not submitted on the documented lyric sheet and the original recording did not include them.

What?? That verse was written for the show.. Look again, there are four of them and they needed a verse for Waylon to sing. That verse is not in any of the versions that I have of that song. Yours either.
