@berniec56 You guys are all awesome and im so glad i grew up around many gays and that i didnt turn out to be some ignorant bigot. Ignorance is a terrible thing for the mind.

@berniec56 i dont think they were trying to portray the average gay, they were trying to play the extremely eccentric flamboyant gay, in a very outgoing / flirty mood. I enjoyed it, and i didnt get offended. Then again, im not gay. But ive never been offended at how they portray straight people in movies either. Either way, i hope you enjoyed the movie as a whole!

I don't see an argument for this being how all gay men act. I think they make it clear in the film that it's not, considering that his partner keeps trying to steer the conversation into safer waters. SOME gay men do this, and some don't. People are all different, go figure.

@berniec56 You're gay, right? So how would you know? You're doing EXACTLY the same as the guy you scold with self-righteousness, you're making aspersions based on your limited experience. About EVERY gay guy I got to meet behaved with me , a straight guy, the way the man with the censored comment described.

John Michael Higgins stole the show for me in this film. He was genius. lol.

"Steve, right?"
"Stephan."
lol
@ MrRalf012 - and most of my gay friends also think these movies are hilarious... we're not offended.

@ MrRalf012 - continuing, "Best in Show" is one of my favorite movies... If you want to see Guest at work with the gays, check out his earlier and also very funny movie "Waiting for Guffman" where Guest himself portrays a gay (Corky St Clair) who does a terrible job of concealing his sexual orientation from the small town he lives in... think Michelle Bachman's husband Marcus.

@ MrRalf012 - continuing, I was not offended in any way and thought that Guest's caricature of the gays was incredibly funny and well done.. it wasn't done in a vicious manner but in rather humorous way that managed to portray them as a loving and very close couple (and one of them was a terrible flirt).

@ MrRalf012 - I agree with you totally. It's a comedy and a caricature and caricatures are based on taking certain elements of a personality and stretching them to the extreme... in a very funny way.
As I've stated before, I'm gay but a pretty normal and masculine guy as are almost all of my friends and guys that I know. And there are those folks in our community who are bit more, shall we say, flamboyant and they are the ones that the stereotypes are based on.
