Here is a video to install Active Desktop update without installing Internet Explorer 4. Go to the folder where your IE files are stored. I recommend you to copy all the IE files to your HDD. The Language of Internet Explorer and Windows 95/NT must be the same to install Active Desktop Update. If you have ie 5 or ie 5.5:
Execute the following command:
For NT 4.0:
IE5Setup.exe /C:"ie5wzd /e:IE4Shell_NTx86 /I:Y"
For WIN95:
IE5Setup.exe /C:"ie5wzd /e:IE4Shell_WIN /I:Y"
If you have IE 6 (Windows NT users only) Execute the following command:
IE6Setup.exe /C:"ie6wzd /e:IE4Shell_NTx86 /I:Y"
Make sure you are connected to the internet and/or your ISO/CD of Internet Explorer 5 or 6 is in the (Virtual) CD drive.
This way of installing Active Desktop Update doesn't work on Nashville (build 999) because Nashville has trouble with the new explorer and shell.
Active Desktop sucks. :-)

@an65001 That's your opinion, but actually I agree. It only makes explorer better, but it's not very effective.
