Storms going south of the Kansas City, Missouri suburb of Independence. This view is from the North side of I-70 near Noland Rd.

10-15 miles east of me in Kansas City, Kansas (yes, there's a KCMO and a KCK) a Magellan Midstream Partners, LP. fuel holding tank was struck by lightning and caught fire from an earlier, more severe system.

I apologize about the clicking noise from the my digital camera's auto focus.

  • Looks like you had the tank fires on your tape there but didn't focus on them :)

  • I wish I could have gotten some of those shots. Too bad it took me an hour to get from OP to Indy or I would have went down there. We had to stop several time to a dead halt on 435 East/North. And I didn't know this at the time but there was a wall cloud right above when I was going through the Triangle.
