The battle on Mactan Island, Philippines that claimed the life of explorer Ferdinand Magellan. Magellan wanted the cooperation of the natives to become a subject of the Spanish King Charles I (Carlos I), the Raja of the island Cebu bowed to the Spanish cross but Datu Lapu-lapu of Mactan island fought and defeated the Spaniards. On April 27, 1521 freedom won.

  • For the people that still think we were conquered through straight battle, they should revisit the Battle of Mactan, Lapu-Lapu's army, fiercely outnumbered, already in conflict with other states/kingdoms/tribes, the Spaniards,of whom apparently(again, apparently,such as,"history is written by the victor") had far superior equipment, were defeated, and had Magellan killed.Our skills of war... It is almost maddening how much they try to call us "primitive", yet, not in the case on the battlefield
