Moonlight Sonata played by Pier Narciso Masi - Tuscany 2005

It should be noted that this was an informal and impromptu concert given after teaching a master class, and not one which Signor Masi had prepared for at length. Nevertheless, no one can doubt his genius. This is the Allegreto and Presto agitato from Beethoven's Quasi una fantasia (Moonlight Sonata) played by Pier Narciso Masi in one of the concerts for the students attending the annual Music Festival in Tuscany arranged by The International Academy of Music. This annual event, where students live and work with the finest musicians in the World for almost two weeks in the mountain air of north Tuscany, is an experience they can never forget!

I will try later to respond in Italian, but if you can understand English -- the noise you heard was caused by an American child dropping some coins. (Her mother had very little control!) It is to Masi's great credit and skill that he did not let the interruption spoil his performance. I am glad that you enjoyed my video. I hope Pier Narciso will approve of me airing his performance.
