Sarkozy no longer agrees with Universal Healthcare and he uses a U.S.A. Model to demonstrate it, see his book "Testimony" and you will see.

  • Thanks for a well mannered video. #1 There is nothing wrong with both a public and private system, right. All public or all private has it problems. combine the two and it solves many problems. #2 Taxes. Yes they pay more taxes, but overall COST in the US is higher. It isnt taxes, but you still pay more. when you talk about canada, theyhave a HUGE country with not many people...so taxes are higher.

  • @dac8555 Canada (I have family there) pays higher taxes BECAUSE they have an overburdened healthcare system, Healthcare is rationed and they actually have no emergency neo natal care, they send those here. I pay 600 dollars a month for a pretty good insurance policy for me and my family (4 total) I don't mind paying that cuz I pay it for me, when I'm forced to pay for you, I take issue...I have made good decisions in my life and can afford it, I shouldnt pay for ppl that make bad decisions.

  • Freeze is totally right. All these republicans making crazy claims are just digging themselves into hole. Soon the American people will realize how the republican party really should just be called corporate America and soon we will all turn our backs on them. Small business create 75% of jobs, fuck the giant corporations who whored out 700 billion from our lovely republican secretary of treasury and George W.

  • Hashjihadful: Your stupid, you seem to think a republican is different than a democrat when in effect, they are all crooked, Screw you and your brainwashed mind, you go on with that democrat verse republican thing, Your gonna be just as fucked tomorrow as you are today, no matter who is in office, it's just sad you dont take a stand for freedom and that means personal responsiblity.

I love freedom and I dont mind paying MY price for it...not yours!!!

  • How about fucking caring less of what the French government says and more about what the PEOPLE prefer, government officials are elected to serve the people, not defending their pharmaceutical mafia buddies, this system is corrupt, it's been since the Federal Reserve got its hands on this country's economy. The Banking, Pharmaceutical, FDA, just to name a few are the core of this country's problem, until you realize that your just going to be an ass licker of your political party.

    Peace.

  • TVX:

Government officials are elected to represent people, not to vote what the majority of their constituents want...really think about that, if that was the case, we would just poll the people and the law would require elected officials to vote according to the majority.

We elect them to vote constitutionally in our best interest, if they dont, we can replace them every 2 years.....time for some replacement!

  • @Lewismadmax Max, let me repeat this, WE HAVE EMERGENCY NEO NATAL CARE. ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. How do I know this. BECAUSE I LIVE HERE, and my wife and first child used the unit where I live. They are actually opening a brand new, state of the art one later this year on top of the one we've had FOR FLIPPIN YEARS. What you do with you care in the States is your choice, but for God's sake man, educate yourself or stop lying. And our taxes aren't much more than yours.

  • Sarkosy will never create a healthcare system like American system. He will be beheaded by French people if he does ^^

French people likes his free healthcare.

If Americans don't want it and want to keep their system, that's their problem, but don't tell that France want to keep the US system as a model ^^

Sarkozy isn't stupid and he knows that the french free healthcare can't be dismantled.

    It's just his opinion. He's a dumbass.

  • go to hospital with bad heart no insurance see if you lay there and die or get a heart pump like cheney

  • @Lewismadmax Canadians pay less tax money for health care than Americans do.

  • @dac8555 ...Exactly, even Americans that have great health insurance still get turned down if they develop a more complex illness. My nephew was born with cystic fibrosis, between his medication and equipment (excluding the constant month long hospital stays) is around 50-60,000 a yr. If we were Americans he would be in the ground right now. Letting a human die due to greed or indifference when you have the power to save them is almost worse then murder

  • @OneManWolfPak- agreed. it isnt even "die for being poor" sometimes it is die for not working for a company with good health insurance or die for being self employed.

  • @dac8555 Our taxes aren’t actually that much higher, people here are taxed according to income, if you make less then 40,000 a yr you pay almost no taxes and you get most of what you do. The big difference is that Canada’s government (usually) is responsible when spending those taxes. If you want to know what system is better just ask yourself, if you needed million dollar surgery where would you rather live? We don’t let our citizens die for being poor

  • No you dont actually pay that much more...plus id rather give my entire paycheck to the government then die of a curable disease because i was too poor to deserve to live. we have great neonatal care...yes the government can afford it. when i was 12 i went to a hospital in florida for an ear infection and was taken ahead of a room full of Americans. i remember a little girl who was bleeding from the head, all over her clothes...her and her dad were crying, they just let her sit there to die

  • we save people and lose money we are such assholes huh ?

  • You really think there are no private healthcare options in france, uk or canada? Go buy yourself a lame insurance plan with alot of small print.

  • @dolphinsattack 2008 estimated 60,000 to 85,000 medical tourists were traveling to the United States for the purpose of receiving in-patient medical care.

2007 (up from 500,000 in 2006)the same study estimated that 750,000 American medical tourists traveled from the United States to other countries.

though medical tourism TO U.S. will propably increase due to the weak dollar(if you can even grasp what that means)

    your percentages are WAY off...

  • You're not totally right about Sarkozy, he does not wish to private the system, but as the HC system needs to be reformed, he tries to compensate the HC deficits with a private system.

I am french, and I have an american friend working in France who critizised the French sytem. Fair enough. Until he got serioulsly ill and needed an operation. He could not believed how cheap has been.

But, you are right on some points, as the taxes are much higher. HC in France is good but not perfect.
