Scale model house - 1/12 Architectural model

This is the 1/12 scale model wood frame house I built using balsa.

I built the model to refresh my memory of what I had learnt during a wood framing course I had done. The model was created first by designing the floor plan to my own design, then I drew up the plans for the walls etc. The house is built to Australian Framing standards, only to 1/12 scale.

The doors and windows I show in the vid are ready-made. You can buy them from suppliers of 1/12 doll house material - youd be surprised what you can buy for dollhouses - cornices, wallpaper, guttering etc etc - they have everything.

Hi, great model, but where did you buy the wood? Did you buy it 1:12th scale lumber? Or did you cut it yourself? Im asking cause im interested in doing this as well. Im going to start small and do a scale model of my bedroom, including the roof section above my room. Any advice?

I worked out the dimensions I needed and then ordered them from a balsa supplier. Much cheaper than retail. Retail balsa is expensive.

This may look to you like a hobby (same goes for your mini arcade machine)... but you sir are a genius with a lot of patience. I know it's not much coming from one person like me, but I just wanted you to know, there are some people appreciating work people like you do. Great work!

@BillySketchArtist ey man I also want to be an architect, I'm working on my first model house at my high school. I think there is a way to download AutoCad for free in their official website. If you are interested just Google "AutoDesk", and you'll see it there.....
