The original version of this song has been one of my favorites of all time for about 10 years -- you've done a wonderful job here of capturing the majesty of the alternate track. This song is about portraying the grand beauty of small things in a simple and honest way, and your (very well done) video does just that. Two good friends walking around town and enjoying each other's presence is the kind of small but unforgettable moment Kozelek is singing about.

There's probably no simple answer to this, but how do you get everything looking so "filmic" on that camera? I just got myself an HD Sony camera, but have no idea of how to get the same effect and range of tonal depth. Help!
It's very inspiring and would love to do something similar - I keep coming back to this video as it really transforms something that's fairly dull - walking down a road - into something magical. Great work!

@GoonerMark92 they meant 183,000 i'm sure;) Otherwise it would be just these 2 guys with their families and mates haha...

@tommygunfeth beautiful effects on this vid, looks almost like an 8mm
did you use anything to get the slightly jerky effect like it has a slow frame rate?
also, did you use any filters?

@GoonerMark92 That's because you looked up the village in Minnesota. He's referring to the city in Norway. :)

@tommygunfeth Ohh right, thanks for clearing that up... this is in Norway then? I just assumed it was the Tunsberg in the States when I searched it on wikipedia.

as othere here have written: i keep coming back to this video, i love it. although it's sad that it's not the whole song. any chance you'll complete it one day?

@paradinieri Thanks, but no unfortunately.. I don't have the same camera equipment anymore.

I have not looked at this video in a long time - but came back to it today. You always have people asking you how you made the video - over and over! And you always answer them. You must be very patient, and this beautiful quality shows in your art. Laura from Canada

@lulucanada1 Haha! Thank you for that! I've tried to keep up, but the in last months I've gotten sloppy at it.

Who are the 11 friendless people who disliked this? Well done making something beautiful out of the mundane, Tommy.
