hey, thanks for the video, i have tried everything but, i went out and bought the new firewire ports, and have have my camera conected and the computer regonises it, but everytime i try to capture video in every program it doesnt work and just shows messages saying that it cant transfer them, really starting to do my head in!

@alexbrysonmiley DVC tapes are DV tapes. If your camera has a firewire input then it can connect directly to the computer. Sony Vegas can capture probably better using your Sony Camera than wmm. Playback on the computer never did any damage to the play heads on my cameras. Hope this helps.

Hey Josh I recently purchased a Sony dcr vx1000, it uses sony dvc tapes, not so sure if that is the same as dv if so can you please clarify that. Also I'm not as sure if you can just connect the the firewire to the computer, there is something about a capture camera I've been hearing about, do you know anything about that ? Another thing I wanted to ask was can this only work in wmm? because I edit with Sony Vegas ? Last question when you play back on the computer does it wreck your tape heads?

when i connect my Quantum pc cam modalQHM495LM It says ;-

hey josh got a quick question, since i have a jvc dv camera will any firewire connector work or should i buy a specific one?

@manniac5150 Any firewire connector should work fine as long as you get the right size. I'm assuming your camera has a 4 pin connection, so be sure to get a cable with a 4 pin connector on one side.
