  • Which paste would you suggest for creating ridges? Also I was wondering if it would be possible to mix heavy body acrylics into the paste rather then fluids? Thanks!

  • @KissMyChristin - any of the molding pastes will work well for creating ridges, and they'll all mix perfectly with Heavy Body acrylics. Just keep in mind that the more color you put in, the less like paste it becomes. But, it takes very little color (Heavy Body or Fluid) to give paste an intense color. So, you should have no difficulties.

  • which would you suggest for creating wave effects like maggi hamblings paintings? and are they all suitable for painting over with acrylic?

  • you are a very good teacher and you also look like a work of art. thanks for sharing!

  • Fantastic work Golden paint co !!!

  • @TheArtisticBiker - you should probably continue to start with the GOLDEN Gesso, but then follow up with a coat or two of the GOLDEN Absorbent Ground. The unique properties of Absorbent Ground makes it great for watercolor or acrylic color washes and stains, but it's not intended to be the primary sealing coat. Hope that helps!

  • Not entirely related to the pastes but you said something that made me wonder about another product. On my show I work primarily in home made books. I seal the pages with acrylic gesso but that doesn't allow watercolor absorption. Can you suggest a product that will retain flexibility, seal pages, and yet still be usable for watercolors?

  • Ugh, thanks SO much for being down to Earth with us and not elitist, gives me courage to keep going with my work by getting good explanations for all these things.

  • ...great info....thanks
