@EGarrett01 Explain the claim that 'furthering of genes' claim is relevant to your topic. If it is relating to the propagation of species that it has no relevance to reason. That belongs in evolutionary psychology. That is biological traits we find desirable and are attracted to. I believe you have confused your own words. Wittgenstein was right, but with you. Look up 'Helen Fischer', she does a good bit on traits and encompasses desirable phenotypes we search for.
@EGarrett01 Man cannot be fully rational because of his emotional center he is born with. Because this is true then it follows that there will exist a part in him that is always is irrational. Saying that man is rational is like saying man is born without emotions. It is only through acquirng that man can attain reason and not be born with it.
Thank you for posting this interview. Whether we agree or not with Jung or Freud's theories, no reasonable person can deny the immense impact they had on the history of psychology
You fool emotion is a part of rationalitly your u cannot have one wihout the other imagine a person that didnt feel emotion they wouldnt consider other peoples situation, only the best outcome and would be considered a madman they basically would be a biological robot with no emotion
man is a rational creature... this statement is wrong. He is only partially rational, while the rest of him is not Unconscious is not rational, emotions are not rational, instinct is not rational: at least, we can say they have their own logic).
But, at the same time, society cannot properly serve all individuals unless we all work together to make a society, and not simply assume that the society will work for us. We cannot all go our own ways, and assume that the safety net will simply enlarge to accommodate our diverse activities - we must first work to enlarge the net ourselves.
