  • It's a great fun to watch these old great races. Many thanks for uploader! What makes it less fun (or in some cases funny as hell) are the sore losers comment from the track and field fans of United States and Great Britain. If Yvonne, Sonia, Sheila, Johnnie-boy or whoever is not the Winner, the Winner is simply a drug-cheat, druggie-communist-plot-monster, hermaphrodite or whatever. By the way, Soviet Union was not Russian Empire or something, and Tetyana Samolenko was Ukrainian.

  • every russian women are either tatyana or natalia lol

  • yeah, most of the winners were doped up but this is still my alltime favorite olympic track competition.

  • This race had more drug addicts than a crack-house on a Friday night.

    Including Samolenko.

  • Decker - Slaney was only 30. That is not 'way past your prime' for a middle distance runner. Indeed, the previous (1984) olympic champion, Puica of Romania was 35 !

  • @blaharns She is a great athlet, are you clean?

  • Decker was way past her prime in 1988...she never had a chance to win

Doping alert for Samolenko and Ivan.. the only difference was that Samolenko actually looked like a woman...

  • The Russians always had the best drugs...

  • @metsdudenj you talk as if this was her race to win. 1984 was probably her race to win but for disaester but not here. She was not the same caliber of runner as the first half of the 80s, and her competitors had gotten alot stronger. What was she ever going to do to win this race. Samolenko and Ivan could handle any pace she could throw at them, and at this point of her career now way could she outkick them.
