I'm a Japanese guy living in Fukuoka prefecture near Minamata. Some of you misunderstood about the cats. Those cats were found in the fishing villages in Mimamata-city after they had eaten enough of polluted fishes to go that way. They had not been poisoned as the experiments...But hey, in 2011 now, Japanese government is doing a huge radioactive experiment with human, I mean with us all Japanese citizens. People in the world, keep your eyes on what's going on in my cruel country.

Food to which factory wastewater had been added was fed to healthy cats. Seventy-eight days into the experiment cat 400 exhibited symptoms of Minamata disease and pathological examinations confirmed a diagnosis of organic mercury poisoning. Study in Denmark and Seychelles (chef-project.dk/PDF/JpnJEnvSc­i.pdf, The last pages are in English.) shows that we cannot tell that mercury in whale and fish affects people. Concentration of mercury in fish which Minamata victims consumed is much higher than that of normal whale and fish.

For those of you who think vaccines are deadly, please explain how I'm not convulsing/dead. I've got every mandatory vaccine imaginable. Btw, for those of you who are anti-animal testing, do you really want us to test this in humans? Would you volunteer your sister to save 1 cat?Animals may be different than us, but many diseases that affect us, affect them similarly. Ie: rabies

I actually remember hearing a tiny bit about this at school when I was a kid once, they never explained much though, onlly that there was a disease going around Japan because of the mercury in seafood. I wish they'd shown this video, whould've really reinforced the point of "Don't mess with mercury!"
