IAU Lesson 302 - LinkedIn and Event Networking

LinkedIn works very well with in-person events like networking events. In this lesson you will learn how to combine the two to build your network.

♦ Get a business card from people you meet. It really helps for what is to follow.

♦ If you have an iPhone, look them up on LinkedIn at the event. You may find something interesting you can use while you are there.

♦ Send them a LinkedIn invite within a day referencing the event and something from their LinkedIn profile.

♦ Make sure you meet the event host and thank them, even offer to help out.

Just like with any other network principle, rapid follow up is key on LinkedIn as well.
Following these tools will increase the likelihood that your networking is effective.
