Tiagim135 suggested that I test this turret gun by shooting applesoldier's face.

I was originally just going to have it firing wildly into the air... but decided to take tiagom135 up on the suggestion.

Ive also been wanting to try a few new light setups for space scenes.... which I think turned out really well.

I also used the AFter Effects plugin (Optical Flares) for the first time... which I think looks awesome!

3D done in Cinema 4D. Post done in After Effects.

  • it looks and sound like the turret from the destiny (sgu), am i right?

  • @ducktopia301 You are right! :)

  • can you create collisions between object's in c4d? I'm not talking about modynamics or any type of simulation, I'm talking about when you move the position of an object, cinema will keep it from colliding with another, is there a way?

  • @BigTimeRushLOLOL I believe it is possible. One way is with constraints, and I also think there is a way to do it with Thinking Particles. Not sure how it would work though. Never tried it before.

  • did you use the xplode plugin for c4d. And what does the optical flares plugin do?

  • @bongobl Yes, I used xplode for the screen.

Optical Flares allows you to create any type of lens flare on a light once its brought into AE from C4D. You can also use alpha channel passes to obscure the flare from being seen. Basically, the flare is 3D.
