So, the guys with the burlap sack masks who did all those terrible things.... The stealing, killing, kidnapping, terrorizing.... They were also responsible for saving the lives of 2 billion people. George Washington would have been a completely different person in a completely different set of circumstances.

@TheMightyOdin Your observation, though a bit sarcastic and more than a bit cynical, is a good one. Let's try looking at it through a much wider lens... . I submit the life of Joseph (Genesis 38 ff). "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.". (Genesis 50:20)
