I worked there in the early nineties when the chalets were still there and the looping star and chair lifts and the shows were all still there and went all through the 80's for day trips with my cousins and all the family and it was agreat day out.I went back to work there in 2003 and it is absolute shit now. Most of it has been all knocked down,like the village and harlaquins etc. It will never be the same again,so sad.

Oh the memories :) Its so sad they reuined this camp with poxy Haven. I loved Butlins and have missed the place dearly ever since...

@munches123 yeh completely ruined now,wonderwest world was class, harlequines ballrom was where we used to go every nyt,always remember the lighting on the foot of the stairs. oh and cant beat the looping star lol.

im going to skegness tomorrow. But sigh i know it wont be anything as good as this. Esp as my boyfriend and his family have spent most of there old holidays at butlins camps. Mainly pwllheli, and clacton. Although he did say they went to ayr once. They got mixed cine film footage, of it. So maybe if its not too hard i might be able to get him to load his old footage :)

i miss butlins loads grew up there as kid now i take my kids there to haven craig tara but they have took away the heart of butlins nothing remains miss everything from castaways and harliquins to red coats and carnival etc even buffalo bills lol , craig tara is ok now but no entertainment for kids is rubbish altho we still go every yr like 4times a yr if we can but they will never compete to wat i rem of butlins happy memories
