This spring we entirely tore up our pond, re-excavated the shape and size (making it larger and deeper, now to hold approx. 3500 Liters) as well as replacing the old liner with a new one, and replacing all the old sandstone rocks with new quartz sandstone type rocks. We deepened the stream and filled around all the edges with a washed riverstone gravel. the whole process took a couple days of work, with myself, my sister and my Dad. To see a bit of what the old pond looked like, see my older video:

I can't wait to let Squirtle swim free in the new pond... I think she's going to love it. :D In a few days we'll be able to return the pond goldfish to their rightful home.

  • and what exactly did u put on the bottom to make so real looking

  • It's really for the yard, as an aesthetic thing, though we keep fish in it and I let my turtle swim in it during the day... The bottom is a black rubber pond liner, it comes as a big roll which you spread out over the hole you want to make into the pond.
