@GeorgeJonesFan100 - He only sang songs from his latest bluegrass album. But, I was just happy to see him in person and it didn't matter what he sang. Although, hearing some of his oldies would have been great too. I added Tom T's name in my Google updates. Google will send you e-mail updates on whatever and whoever you want. This is how I learned he was performing at the IBMA and also at the Country Music Hall of Fame Concert In Residence back in 2005.
@KLUNKET LOL! I believe he still comes home for visits now and then but his current house is in Franklin, TN just outside of Nashville. He came back to Olive Hill, KY in 2008 and I found out about it AFTER the show! Talk about being disapointed. They talked like he mingled with the crowd before the show and did some signing. Wish I could've been there! I'm hoping he'll come back for another concert in Olive Hill.
@GeorgeJonesFan100 - thats awesome, you should just pop over and say hey Tom T, I'm your cousin! He'd probably welcome you right in! LOL, that is really neat though. Does he still live in KY?
@KLUNKET I am actually around 5th or 6th cousins to Tom T. I live not far from where Tom T grew up in Olive Hill, KY. It's about 20 minutes from my house.
@GeorgeJonesFan100 - I drove all the way to South Carolina from Pittsburgh PA to see Tom T. in the mid 90's, Tom T. was playing an outdoor gig there. I went that far because at the time Tom T. had almost stopped touring and was talking of retiring, and I felt as if I may never get another chance to see him. They rescheduled the concert but I couldn't afford to stay another day, and miss work, so I missed him. I had hoped to see him again, but not very long after I had heard that he had retired
