  • Have you tried removing the jackplate & raising the motor more ?

All the weight's is at the back & the jackplate is moving the CG back even further.

Since you have a LWP you could start by putting the gearcase bullet level with the sponsons

& work your way up. And a cleaver prop would better for top speed.

  • @WhazzupPhil The boat's transom is a 21 inch high transom made for a "long shaft" engine. We converted the 15 to a longshaft and ran it without the jackplate in the first Speed Testing video. Barely pumped water on plane as it was creating a whirlpool around intake. Engine needs to be jacked up about a half inch more but the jackplate works in 1 inch increments at the moment. The jackplate lets me run any SS 18" motor and adjust height accordingly. Is a cleaver prop essentially a surfacing prop?

  • that thing looks like a blast. i want one!

  • @paradoxdesigns Just go to clark craft's website, order a kit and build your own! I had to make all the parts myself but with the kit you can build it in your garage with some woodworking handtools, drill etc. See "how to build a boat" video for build process

  • Im a Omc fan but I think it needs Kiekhaefer Power

  • @ScottAtwater1 The Fastwin 15 is a good reliable motor for that boat, but i'll agree its a Mercury kind of boat

  • @MovieMakerKeith OK.Yes a cleaver is a surfacing prop, I'm sure you can buy one from Ron Hill who specializes in small race props. How high is the bullet to the sponsons ? What's your current top speed & what are you aiming for ?

  • Looks good.

When you're done with fine tuning you're engine you want to use. Look for a jackplate and a cleaver prop.. You can get a lot more speed with it.

  • Best TU9 video yet!!! I think you should post it on the AOMCI Inner Sanctum
