"Maria Guleghina must surely now be the Turandot of our time Berti is a sturdy Calaf, his relationship well defined with Timur, a fine perfomance from Alexander Tsymbalyuk this is probably the best bet now for a Turandot on DVD." Gramophone Editor's Choice, March 2010
I saw the production at the cinema last night and it is awesome. Pity the film director and the editing spoil the great production, not allowing the viewer to get inside the feeling of being there and spoiling the original work. Too many close face shots, or images from parts of the action (or aesthetic details) when something is happening and you lost the whole wide effect.
The dress are also truly amazing, rich, creative and proper for Turandot.
